          About the Studio

Students come to the studio each week to have an individual lesson and watch another student’s lesson.  Beginning students are scheduled in groups of two to five students, with individual lessons at the piano.   All students are expected to practice daily for a length of time appropriate to their age and level.  Thirty to sixty minutes of high quality practice per day (less for beginners) is typically the amount needed to make sufficient progress to encourage a student.
Beginning in Volume 2, lesson time is typically increased to forty-five minutes.  Also at this level, students use the computer lab before or after their lesson to study music reading, theory, and history.

Students perform regularly in group classes, music parties in students’ homes, and formal recitals.  These opportunities are held throughout the school year and are motivational events for everyone.

A studio lending library provides a variety of books, CD’s, and videos to help both children and adults discover more about the world of music.

Students benefit from participating in special events such as Suzuki workshops and other musical events held in Louisville and other cities.  Families are encouraged to attend good professional concerts as well.

The studio is equipped with two Kawai 6'9" grand pianos.     There is room for observation as well as small performances.
